June 19th - Website is up and Solitaire Rules uploaded!
I have been following the thread on consimworld concerning the desire for solitaire playability with The Hell of Stalingrad. Unfortunately, there was not enough room in the original rule book to include all the guidelines for the single player variant which is a shame because the game actually plays very well in solitaire mode.
One quick observation players will make is that the German Solitaire Game actually quite different from the main PvP game. I wanted to give everyone who purchased the game the best possible value by allowing them to experience new dimensions of Stalingrad.
The German player starts with a full 13 formations but must conquer an entire district with no reinforcements. No one ever said Stalingrad was for the weak. My goal is to have the Soviet solitaire version finished and uploaded when I make it back from Origins!

June 23rd - All nighter in preparation for Origins
Its 4:30 AM now and I am almost done getting everything ready for Origins. I have finished designing the new Stalingrad T-Shirts, Award Certificates, and fliers. It is going to be an awesome con!

July 5th - Great time at Origins
Origins was an amazing trip. I am so glad that I went, I met a lot of amazing gamers, did I mention that I love the hobby! The responses I have been receiving from people who have playtested the game have been phenomenal! I am blown away by the responses we have gotten. There are several very interesting threads THoS threads Board Game Geek and Consimworld which I have been following very closely. I have been very impressed by the intelligence and insight of the fans who have played the game!

July 8th - Miniature variant for The Hell of Stalingrad!
I am in the middle of building a full scale Miniature Diorama for use during demos of the Hell of Stalingrad.. Nothing can quite replace the feel of a three dimensional battlefield and it makes a great variant of the game to play with miniatures. Pictures and miniature rules will be available when everything is all done!

July 19th - I love the Hobby!

 Wow!

Jeff, Alex, and I just returned from three frenzied and wonderful days at Historicon. It was incredible how well The Hell of Stalingrad was received.

I am so grateful to be involved in this hobby, the people are amazing. I love getting out to a convention and meeting everyone face to face. It is striking to me just how intelligent and sincere board/miniature gamers are. Talking with members of the community has become my favorite part of the job.

At the end of the day, it is the personal interaction that you remember and makes the entire experience worthwhile!

July 20th - The Fires of Midway

I was hoping to avoid this discussion for a little while longer but since you mentioned a sequel, I might as make our announcement now.

The card driven system used for The Hell of Stalingrad is not limited to just urban warfare. The next game in the "War is Hell Series" is almost done.

After I get back from WBC I am going to spend a month putting the finishing touches on our second game - "The Fires of Midway" it will cover not just the Battle of Midway but all the 42' carrier battles and link them together in a complete campaign:

Coral Sea

Midway Island

Eastern Solomons

Santa Cruz

It will also include an optional scenario for the carrier battle of Wake Island that almost took place...

Midway incorporates a few new mechanics which I guarantee you have not seen in a card or board game before. I don't want to go into too many details now I will answer the number one question I have been asked about our sequel: "Are we going to include the Midway Flying Coffins?"

Yes, we are going to included the Brewster Buffalo as well as Vindicators, Avengers and Marauders as well.

I hope this helps...
